Who doesn't enjoy that extra hour in the morning when we "fall back". Midi-recorded live performance on 11/02.

Seems like a lot's falling apart these days. Let the saddness through, and then let it go.
The first cold nights remind us that the promise of summer inevitably closes.
Preparing for the season of changing leaves.
I did some post-processing on this one - to remove a gradual accelleration throughout the piece that fought with the perpetual rhythm theme, and to add a fade out.
This continual series of arpeggios reminds me of perpetually rising liquid.
Simple semi-sappy ballad.
A simple rhythmic interlude comprised of a jumble of notes I recorded between rehearsal and church this morning on the Yamaha Clavinova. I emailed the resulting MIDI file to myself and rendered on my CP300. Remixed the pad a bit for variety.
Happy song after a morning horseback ride up the canyon.
Evocative of the Aurora Borealis.
Variations on a rhythmic theme over a trivial chord sequence tarted up with some flavorful intervals.
Arythmic waves of sound, loosly modeled after Pat Metheney's Sea Song.
Spare minimalistic piece allowing you to sink into the rich tones of the Yamaha CP300. All sounds played live (no dubbing.)

Spontaneous Reflections is a musical journal, updated approximately weekly. It's available free in the iTunes store or you can subscribe directly here.
Most of the pieces posted on Spontaneous Reflections are pure improvisations. I'll sit down and noodle for a few minutes to find a theme, a rhythm, a chord change or voicing that intrigues me, and then build a piece around that simple idea. Most of the pieces are thus compact, and far from perfect or polished. Hopefully they make up for that in freshness. The style is somewhere between New Age, Jazz, and ethnic music, inspired by my favorite pianists like Keith Jarrett, Lyle Mays, Liz Story, Philip Aaberg.
